I have been trying to introduce her to the backyard this week. Even though our furnace protests, I left the sliding glass door open for a bit in the morning once everyone went to work. The finches were attacking the sock filled with Nyer Thistle seed. Their happy feeding sounds were too much for her to resist. I caught this image of her peeking out the door to see what was making all that noise, right before she retired for the day.
She has decided that the very best place to sleep all day is underneath my Mom's bed. Mom has the bed located directly over the furnace, so it's nice and cozy, and cave-like. She likes to usurp Baxter's toys and explore all the nooks and crannies. Mom packs a lot into a small room and thus has lots of good hidy places for her.
Scout is very bold. Today, she surprised me whilst I was innocently trying to do house chores (how dare I ignore her?!!!) she took a running head start and tried to climb up my leg...up into my arms I assume. Well, I was sure surprised to say the least. She has also taken to swatting Dixie's tail when she can't find a good toy to chase, and she and Baxter are very close to cuddling up on, you guessed it, Mom's bed.
Dixie is writing our holiday letter this year. She insists that the house has gone to the dogs and she intends to keep it that way.
